Marvel NOW starts with All-New X-Men

All-New X-Men’s team roster has been revealed in a promo illustration from Stuart Immonen.

The artwork appears to confirm that Cyclops and Emma Frost will survive the events of Avengers vs X-Men following speculation that they could be killed off in issue #11.

Wolverine and Cyclops being depicted on opposite sides of the illustration has sparked rumours of a divide within the X-Men, similar to the events of the Schism storyline.

Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Immonen, All-New X-Men will usher in the Marvel NOW era along with Uncanny Avengers and the relaunched Avengers.

Earlier today, a variant Avengers cover design by J Scott Campbell offered clues to the team’s final roster.

All-New X-Men will debut with two issues in November while Uncanny X-Men will not be a part of the Marvel NOW! lineup.

Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Axel Alonso confirmed that the formerly flagship X-Men title will be absent from the new initiative.

The line will instead be led by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen’s All-New X-Men.

“All-New X-Men is the new flagship X-Men title,” Alonso told Comic Book Resources.

“Uncanny X-Men simply wasn’t an appropriate title for the series that Brian and Stuart Immonen have planned.

“This is a book where the Lee & Kirby X-Men jump into the future, the same world inhabited by the current X-Men – or what’s left of them after AvX – and everyone takes a good look at one another and goes, ‘Oh s**t’. Believe me, if you are an X-Men fan or if you’ve ever been curious, now is the time to start reading.”

Uncanny X-Men was relaunched alongside the continuing Wolverine and the X-Men when the titles split after ‘Schism’ last year.

It will conclude in October with Uncanny X-Men #20.
