Rise of the Guardians

DreamWorks Animation has released six character posters from Rise of the Guardians, director Peter Ramsey’s new adventure which puts a new spin on classic childhood characters featuring Jack Frost (Chris Pine), North (Alec Baldwin), Tooth (Isla Fisher), E. Aster Bunnymund (Hugh Jackman), The Sandman, and Pitch (Jude Law).

Jack Frost is a rebel who has no responsibilities in the world, until Pitch, the Nightmare King, begins his plan to engulf the world in Darkness. But everything changes when the Guardians, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and the Easter Bunny asks him to join their group to stop him.

What’s fascinating about this latest Dreamworks movie is that their rendered characters are now more improved compared to How to Train Your Dragon, which is another personal favorite outside Pixar. You know how Disney/Pixar dominates the CG animated films since, so its a breathe of fresh air to see other non-Pixar movies to be above or at least the same level as them.

Rise of the Guardians, formerly titled The Guardians of Childhood and previously titled The Guardians, is an upcoming 3D computer-animated action-adventure comedy film which will be based on William Joyce’s The Guardians of Childhood book series. It will be produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures, and is set for release on November 21, 2012.
